Jail Ministry

Grace Community Church of Olivia, MN will be hosting a jail ministry training on Saturday, April 2, for any church or individual interested in being better equipped to minister to those in prison – Matthew 25:31-46. Please register online (see below) by March 15 if you plan to attend so we can have adequate meals and materials prepared. You can pay onsite by cash or check or we can send a bill to your church after the event.

The training will be from 8:30am-5:00pm. Doors and registration open at 8:00am. The cost is $45 for the whole day with lunch provided or you can register for individual sessions. The morning session ($20) is on training for volunteers and the afternoon session ($20) is to help us become healthy mentors for those in and out of prison. An on-site lunch is available for $5.

Our instructor is Dr. Karen Swanson, the Director of the Institute for Prison Ministries at the Billy Graham Center, Wheaton College. She has over 25 years of teaching experience. She has taught in jails, prisons and worked in reentry. Her doctoral degree is in Education with an emphasis in curriculum leadership.
